Surprise Cover of 1865

Part of Robert's many surprises was the collaborative surprise cover of 1865. He was asked to record a simple cover. According to one of his daughters, her company couldn’t afford the rights to the original track by Third World, so she needed him to record a cover. But he didn’t know that was a lie. 🙂. Additionally, he didn’t know other musicians he knew were recording their part behind his back and would be a part of the final product, including Ebony (his daughter) on the drums. He had no idea until we showed him this video Saturday night. He hasn’t performed much during the pandemic, and hasn’t been in a studio for YEARS, so it was a pleasure to get him back in the studio to have a little fun.
